About Dr. Don Sweeney
Dr. Don Sweeney is a 23-year employee of the Army Corps of Engineers and a distinguished Ph.D economist. He received the First Service to America Medal Award and the Golden Whistle Award for bravely exposing abuse of democracy and evidence of wasteful use of taxpayer money. By revealing the abuses by his superiors, he helped to reshape the debate on the proposed $1.2 billion water project, helped prompt introduction of Congressional legislation to require independent peer review of large or controversial projects, and inspired enormous media and public scrutiny of the Corps of Engineers.
