In today's highly competitive global economy, companies are placing more emphasis on developing the potential of their people than ever before. In full appreciation of the financial impact of this effort has come the term Human Capital Management. The emphasis on Human Capital Management builds upon the inherent understanding that keeping employees (human capital) happy and working at their full potential enhances the company's performance and bottom-line results. It is sound business practice to nurture these human assets and understand when and why they are unhappy—not working at potential or at risk of leaving. In this panel, we will explore this issue with experts who bring years of experience along with diverse perspectives to this important topic.

About Joel Barker, Tor Dahl, Kevin Freiberg, Betty Silver
Joel Barker - Noted futurist and best-selling author who introduced the business world to Paradigms with his mega best-selling video and book The Business of Paradigms, links technology to human capital. Drawing from his soon-to-be-released book Five Regions of the Future, Barker describes the region he calls Human Tech and demonstrates how we are just now beginning to appreciate the full range of technologies we are born with to solve human problems at work and engage our people to create greater organizational value.

Tor Dahl - World renowned productivity expert who contributed to the development of the productivity strategies for China, Russia, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia and Sweden; brings years of experience studying the factors that influence human productivity. Tor believes productivity is largely determined by how people are organized and treated in the organization. His projects around the world have proven conclusively that you can improve human productivity exponentially. He will share his thoughts on the connection between human capital and productivity.

Kevin Freiberg - Co-author of the best selling book on America's favorite airline NUTS! Southwest Airlines' Crazy Recipe for Business and Personal Success; Kevin is an authority on business best practices who uncovers the unconventional methods that some of the world's most successful firms use to turn passion and leadership into high levels of performance and profits. Kevin challenges organizations to create ALIVE-ness@Work by engaging people through gutsy leadership.

Betty Silver, Director of SAS University, leads global employee leadership development at the $1.34 billion, nearly 10,000 employee international provider of business intelligence software and services. Silver is transforming the training department from its current traditional focus to a more strategic approach, including performance improvement, corporate alignment and continuous learning. Prior to this position, she was responsible for global product strategy and marketing for SAS' Human Capital Management solutions.
