About Cliff Williams
Cliff Williams is a Partner for Grant Thornton Global Public Sector. He serves as the partner-in-charge of the Homeland Security market segment, where he is responsible for customer service and business development. Throughout his government and consulting career, he has focused on Federal program and financial management services which include, efficient and effective delivery of tax administration services, performance measurement, financial statement preparation, account and data reconciliation, financial systems assessments and implementation, pre- and post- audit support, internal controls assessments, compliance assessments, and forensic accounting support. Mr. Williams has over 24 years of program and financial management experience in government and private sector process improvement, accounting, operations, audit, and consulting services.
He has created and maintained client relationships with executives from most entities within the federal civilian government e.g., Transportation Security Administration, United States Coast Guard, Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly the Immigration and Naturalization Service), Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Department of Treasury Financial Management Service, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Commerce, Drug Enforcement Administration and the National Institutes of Health.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Mr. Williams worked for BearingPoint and PwC Consulting where he was an industry leader for account and project management in the Federal Civilian sector. Mr. Williams was also a Branch Chief at the Internal Revenue Service responsible for cost management and performance measurement.
